android_malware_transparentAccording to a report, 79% of malicious attacks on mobiles in 2012 occurred on devices running Google’s Android operating system.

Symbian, Nokia’s system came in second place in the malware sweepstakes.

iOS had just 0.7% attacks.

This report should taken seriously, as Android is the most popular and widely used mobile operating system worldwide.

To make matters worse, many Android users (49%) are using outdated versions of Android making them more susceptible to attacks.
