It looks like Apple will be on the hunt for a new contractor for their highly-publicized “spaceship campus”.
The Swedish contractor Skanska issued a statement via their website on Tuesday that stated that it had been unable to come to an agreement with a customer over changes in the scope of a current project, and that it was terminated from the project.
They had begun work on the site next to Interstate 280 in October of 2013.
By their estimates, the company could lose as much as $800 million as a result of the impasse and termination.
Further details were disclosed by a city official in Cupertino, California who wished to remain anonymous since there was no directive to make the news fully public.
The partnership of DPR/Skanska has been replaced by contractors Rudolph & Sletten and Holder Construction, who will take up the work on the main spacecraft-like building at the center of the Apple Campus 2 site.
