The new Mac Pro will be available in December 2013. But it will be expensive. It will retail for $2999. With this model you get the Intel 3.7 GHz Xeon E5 processor complete with 10MB of L3 cache and a Turbo Boost up to 3.9GHz, 12GB of 1866MHz ECC DDR3 RAM, 256GB of PCle-based storage of flash, and finally two AMD FirePro D300 GPUs with 2GB of VRAM a piece. Or if you have $1000 more you can have your Apple Mac Pro equipped with a six-core 3.5GHz Xeon E5 processor with 12MB of L3 cache and a Turbo Boost upwards to 3.9GHz, 16GB of 1866MHz ECC DDR3 RAM, 256GB of PCle-based storage of flash, and two AMD FirePro D500 GPUs with 3GB of VRAM each.
There are other models, though nothing concrete has been announced as of yet.
Tuesday saw Apple’s presentation of the Mac Pro’s 7 teraflops graphics performance. It outperforms the old Mac Pro by quite a wide margin. Apple showed how the FirePro GPUs gives simultaneous support of three 4K displays. Onboard also are six Thunderbolt 2 ports along with four USB 3.0 ports.
Finally, the Apple Mac Pro has a height of 9.9 inches and is 6.6 inches in diameter. Take it into consideration that it can’t accommodate PCI cards to expand it nor can it be host to internal storage devices.
