Apple's Court Request In E-Book Publishing Conspiracy NixedOctober 2013 saw a Manhattan , New York Court appoint a monitor named Mr. Bromwich, as she Judge Denise Cote came to the conclusion that Apple conspired with five publishers to fix prices.

In January 2014, Apple asked that Mr. Bromwich be removed, as he represents an intrusion to procedures that the company uses to do business.

Apple had contended that they were on the their way to complying with antitrust laws set by the Federal government. The court has not seen it their way and the monitor will remain, in place, though with special instructions from the court’s three-judge panel.
