Users can not repair their Apple Retina MacBook Pro when it breaks down: iFixit should know, as they tear down Macs and put them back together again.
Think carefully before you consider purchasing a new MacBook, as on both models of the laptops — the RAM, battery and SSD are not made in such a way that is user-replaceable.
Bearing this in mind, Apple does make available to its customers a one-year warranty, running the whole gamut of its hardware under AppleCare (extendable via AppleCare+), whereby purchasers of new products shouldn’t worry about products that fail.
