For those who want a bit more character to their GPS navigation directions, Waze has filled the bill with none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The renowned action movie actor and former California governor will be lending his voice to the navigation app; to be exact, he’ll be providing directions in the voice of his iconic Terminator character from the movie series of the same name.
This was announced today as part of a promotional tie-in with the next entry in the series, Terminator Genisys due to hit theaters in the next few weeks.
Waze has gained a great deal of popularity thanks to its reliability in providing crowd-sourced information regarding traffic data such as accidents, road construction and police stops.
The app then provides routes to the driver to make their way around them.
Google acquired Waze two years ago this month for a little over $1 billion.
Schwarzenegger will not only give directions within the app, but he’ll also toss in a couple of other phrases he’s made popular right down to the “hasta la vista baby.”
The collaboration is the first of a new deal between the navigation app company and Paramount Studios, which has experience doing ties with actors like Terry Crews an an example.
