Thanks to today’s modern smartphone cameras, taking snaps of your surroundings has become a lot of fun; however, if you are an iPhone user, a true 360-degree view of the world is something that is sorely lacking. While Android has its brilliant photosphere feature, iOS has to make do with apps such as 360 Panorama and Sphere 360 Camera to piece together a 360-degree image using various stills. That is all set to change though, thanks to a brand-new free app by the name of Bubbli.
Bubbli is a super-cool app that allows you to truly capture everything around you – sounds and all. Unlike, panoramic camera apps, Bubbli makes “bubbles” of video images and sound and puts them all together to create a full view of your surroundings – top, bottom, left, right and behind.
The app is really easy to use. All you need to do is find a good place to stand, open the app, and press the camera button to begin recording. To make the most of your “bubbles” you should use the camera standing up, starting out in front before moving up, down and around to “paint” the whole scene. It’s best if you have a steady hand when doing so too, or the stitching process will not turn out as you’d hope.
Bubbli does take some getting used to, so if your photosphere images do not turn out as planned at first, just keep painting.
Speaking to USA Today, the app’s co-founder, Ben Newhouse said, “Most bubbles need to be gone over at least 10 times.”
“Don’t worry – the software puts it all together.”
With the added audio aspect, Bubbli certainly adds an extra wow factor to the traditional panoramic image and once you start getting the hang of the app, you’ll find yourself “painting” everything!
Bubbli is available to download for free from the Apple App Store.
