Comcast_Logo.svgContrary to industry speculation and reports, Comcast may not have any wish to acquire T-Mobile.

At least that’s what sources close to the telecommunications giant have stated.

Word of the situation first broke in a German magazine that Comcast might have interest in buying T-Mobile.

Their sources of information were unidentified. Comcast is probably putting that talk to rest due to a couple of factors, the first being that they are about two months removed from a highly publicized bid attempt to acquire Time Warner Inc.

Time Warner opted to be acquired by Charter Communications for $55 billion.

The company didn’t want to push for another deal so soon, especially when they haven’t opened talks with T-Mobile’s parent company, Deutsche Telekom AG.

Deutsche Telekom is actually in the throes of talks with Dish Network, even though all signs point to the talks being exploratory for the moment and are through T-Mobile’s management.

If talks do pick up, Dish is in position to move quickly, having already talked with banks about securing funds for a bid in the range of $10 to $15 billion. But the ball is in Deutsche Telekom’s court.
