The US Department of Justice and other states are taking a closer look at the proposed acquisition of Time Warner Cable by cable behemoth Comcast.
“We are part of a multistate group reviewing the proposed transaction along with the U.S. DOJ (Justice Department) Antitrust Division,” the Florida state attorney general’s office said in an emailed statement.
Comcast has claimed that the deal will not reduce competition because both parties to the agreement serve different markets.
If the deal goes through, Comcast would control about a third of the overall market.
