Facebook is no longer letting users hide from search, (which should draw everyone’s attention who uses the social media platform – and serve as a wake-up call to look at your privacy settings, pronto).
Facebook Inc. said Thursday that it is removing a setting that controls whether users could be found when people type their name into the website’s search bar. An everyday example: When two people in the same FB group would search for each other, it was not always possible to come up with a connection.
Out of the nearly 1.2 billion people on its network, Facebook says only a single-digit percentage had been using the setting.
