Google has announced some big price cuts for their cloud services.
They’ve also shuffled their pricing chart to simplify things.
Compute Engine will see a 32% price drop and app engine pricing will be down 30%, whicle cloud storage is dropping by 68%.
Google’s big data analysis database BigQuery will see the largest drop — a full 85%.
Cloud Platform Greg DeMichillie told Techcrunch “the industry has somehow moved away from the original dream of the cloud over the last few years. Provisioning servers in the cloud was supposed to be simple and cheaper than doing it yourself. But setting up a cloud server now often involves plenty of work, and cloud pricing hasn’t exactly followed Moore’s law.”
