Google Nixes Two Infected Extensions From Chrome Web StoreTweet This Page and Add To Freely are the two malware-infected Chrome extensions that have been deleted by Google, officially, form its Chrome Web Store.

A false-faced investor, turning out to be nothing more than a scam artist, infected the extensions through a default auto-update with malware.

The ever-vigilant Chrome add-on, co-author of Honey — the developer known as gemusan — is hip to the “mental gymnastics” trick that those fallen extensions fell for, and the modus operandi used by those self-thought cunning crooks turns out to probably be just the beginning of more criminal activity done in such a manner.

It is wise to mull over what you, as the extension user and he/she who defines what activity that goes on with the extension that you will allow, might find it in your best interest to do a little bit of careful research/tweaking of your default settings and just what it is that the fine print says.
