Linkedin Launches Site In ChinaLinkedin has launched a site in China, offering information in simplified Chinese.

LinkedIn’s chief executive, Jeff Weiner said “There are 140 million professionals in China — one out of five professionals on a global basis. With an ‘English only’ site we had four million users.”

With the launch of this site, Linkedin now has sites in 22 languages.

The Chinese government will probably require Linkedin to obtain a license to operate their site.

Weiner added “While we support free speech, we recognize that to obtain a license in China it may be necessary to limit some things.”
