These days, it’s all about the ease of having Internet access no matter where you go, that has become a driving force overall. For Microsoft, a product release looks towards fulfilling that need.
Recent reports from social media users spotted two key things that the software giant was in the process of developing online in their App Store. One of those products? Microsoft Wi-Fi.
A ‘Coming Soon’ graphic has become a placeholder, but representatives have issued a brief statement saying: “We can confirm that we are working on a new service, called Microsoft WiFi, that will bring hassle-free Wi-Fi to millions.”
Light on more elaborate details, it appears that Microsoft Wi-Fi would be available to users via a network of broadband hotspots.
But before consumers go off and dream of unlimited wi-fi access, there is a catch – there are three conditions where one can gain access to Microsoft Wi-Fi at their launch, and they aren’t free ones.
You would have to either be an employee of a company using Office 365 for Enterprise, a paid subscriber to Skype or obtain a special Wi-Fi offer from Microsoft themselves.
There is no word yet as to when Microsoft Wi-Fi will make its official debut.
