Musicians Notice: Saved by the 'Splice' of GroupMe Co-Founder Steve Martiocci Techcrunch reports today on  a GitHub for Musicians, as GroupMe’s Steve Martiocci – the founder of ‘Splice’ – has stepped in to aid collaboration with song version control.

The other co-founder of Splice, Matt Aimonetti, very experienced in audio engineering  (formerly of: LivingSocial, Sony PlayStation) dipped into the music realm with Martiocci to build Splice with the goal of leaving the core music creation process the same, but eliminating all the aggravating stuff around it.

Citing music production as oft times a nightmare, where if you don’t save after every change, you can’t go back, and it’s tough going for collaborators to know who tweaked what/where. Splice wants to redefine the musician workflow. Splice will open it’s private beta today that lets artists auto-backup each and every update to a song, and additionally share a timeline of changes and comments with their team.
