People can now co-edit documents, as they go along thanks to Office Web Apps, which is essentially a more compact version of the Microsoft suite. Google Docs has been doing this functionality a couple of years.
This new live co-authoring feature allows for collaborators to see modifications as they are made. The changes made by one author, in other words, does not have to be saved for others collaborating to view them.
The feature was announced on Thursday, by Microsoft.
Microsoft have added auto save — additionally — to the Word application.
Others like OneNote, PowerPoint and Excel are ahead of things by having this feature incorporated into their routines.
