The third annual Employees’ Choice Awards chas just released their picks for the highest rated CEO’s in the United States.
The ratings guide and awards ceremony was brought about by the careers website Glassdoor.
The companies were chosen by employees who made their voices heard by giving feedback through Glassdoor’s site in an anonymous matter.
The survey period runs from April 21st of last year until the 22nd of April this year. The list is a solid who’s who of diverse global brands.
Tech-related companies made up three-fifths of the top five companies that were listed; Larry Page of Google placed number one overall, with Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook at fourth.
The bigger news would apparently turn out to be the fact that of the total list over all, 30 of the CEO’s listed weren’t even on the full list of 50 last year.
Apple and Yelp’s CEO’s, in a sign of the times, dropped down to tenth and 22nd respectively.
Have you ever wondered where failed startups go to when they run out of fuel and ideas?
One new website looks to answer that question and shed a little light on what happened to them.
The new website is called Autopsy.io, and it essentially is a comprehensive list of all failed startup companies.
Every failed startup listed is presented on a spreadsheet-style list, detailing reasons as to why they were unsuccessful along with basic information like their company idea and a link to an article explaining their demise.
Autopsy.io came into existence thanks to a conversation between the co-founders, Niral Patel and Matthew Davies. Davies, who is a co-founder of the Milc web agency, was watching his partner having to deal with her clothing company begin to fold.
He didn’t really consider doing a listing until Patel, who works with the Sameroom startup, approached him to see if there was anything new they could work on in terms of projects.
They wrote the code for the website but forgot about it until making it live this past Friday.
Patel spoke to the press regarding the launch and their amazement at finding and listing these companies.
He went on to comment on their findings, saying: “There are just so many people building things that they don’t have a customer for. It’s like, this is ridiculous! When you see them all at once, I can’t believe this many startups got funded.”
As for the name Autopsy?
The duo originally wanted to entitle the site “Sh– Startup” but opted instead to go with a more clever name so as not to cause offense to these companies.
Currently the site has already attracted 40,000 visitors.
Your days of cursing and being frustrated over trying to find parking could possibly be lessened thanks to a new application on the scene.
A Washington-based company, INRIX, has released a new app that goes by the name of On-Street Parking.
The company, which specializes in collecting traffic data and data from collective car systems, plans to team with automotive manufacturers to have the service in their vehicles.
It’s reported that BMW will be the first to carry the On-Street Parking app within its ConnectedDrive suite of applications and services as was announced on Wednesday.
The app works using real-time data to give the user an idea of which streets would have freed-up parking spaces available.
Following the standard traffic light tri-color coding, prime spots and streets would be designated green, those less certain would be daubed in yellow and those horrible areas would be colored red.
The interface bears some similarities to other standard online mapping interfaces. INRIX’s app also provides users with other pertinent information like the cost of nearby parking garages and municipal parking meters.
The company also looks to not only partner with other auto makers like Audi and Ford, but they will also market to cities who want to ingest such data to get better ideas on how they can improve parking and related profits.
The app and service will be first offered in Cologne, Amsterdam, Seattle, Vancouver, Copenhagen and San Francisco when it will officially launch sometime before the end of the year.

When we create content, we hope to share it across the web through internal marketing campaigns as well as through social media networks. In this article, we will discuss some basic and important tips that will help you create content that gets shared.
Why create content that gets shared?
How does it benefit your business to get your content shared?
Overall people share content because:
The above and many other points encourage people to share content, however, the main reason is definitely “exposure”. When you share your content, or an article through social media, people get the chance to see it and read it, which in turn expands your exposure and helps you get more traffic to your website. Furthermore, if people who visit your website to read your content like it, and share it among their network, you automatically increase the number of people who will read your blog or article.
Ways to create content that gets shared
When it comes to written content like blogs andarticles, the main objective of the writer should be to provide content which adds value for the reader.
Follow the following tips when writing content:
The above tips are great, but there are some important things to remember when developing a content marketing strategy.
The first thing to understand is that you must set goals that are attainable. To create successful social media content, the goals that you set have to be reasonable and achievable.
You must set clear goals for every piece of content that you generate. Besides, you should know and understand what is important for your audience. It’s really great if you can create content that explains to your audience what is important for them. But to do this you have to discover what kind of content interests your audience so that you can create such content for them.
After you discover the kind of content that your audience is interested in, you can use that information to produce useful content, which will educate and entertain them so that they will readily share it with others. Last but notleast, it is necessary to make it easy for people to share. For this, you must add social sharing buttons with every content piece that you create.
Why would people be interested in sharing your content?
What is the psychology behind sharing content? In most cases, content that brings on emotion or touches people’s lives in some way or the other gets shared.
Compelling visual content can also be of help.
There is no doubt that visual content of any form, be it infographic, meme, or even video, can do wonders for your content.
Infographics and Ebooks
Infographics are exciting, easy to understand, and interesting pieces of information to be shared. Because they are visually compelling, as well as engaging, people get attracted to them instantly.
For ebooks, the same theory applies, and so to make them interesting, and to get more “shares” and “likes” on them, you must use interesting graphics along with information.
As there is for written content, for infographics and ebooks too, there are certain tips to follow that can help make them instant successful.
The first thing to keep in mind is to “follow the data.” You must conceptualize the infographic based on the data.
Next thing is to know your audience. You must create the infographic based on whom you are creating it for. The images, the language, and the main points should appeal to the audience you are targeting.
Moreover, the infographic should be designed based on the platform that you have selected to work on.
Another important thing to consider is to communicate correctly with your audience. That can be done by telling a great story.
Lastly, keep everything simple and make it easy to share.
