Tapei's HTC Goes For Broke With Low-Cost PhonesThe last quarter of 2013’s results were distressing for Taiwan’s HTC. The expectations for Q1 of 2014 don’t look much better. This has made the Taipei-baed smartphone company rethink things.

HTC has the HTC One smartphone in a champagne gold edition for specific markets, and the company has several new handsets that they have added to their premium Desire line.

More devices, priced from $150 to $300, are to be sold as HTC CEO Cher Wang has decreed.
