Images give life to written content. The visual also leaves a long term impact in the memory of the viewers. If you have a WordPress website, then it’s easier to add/remove images from your posts or pages. This can simply be done using the WordPress Media Uploader tool while creating or editing a post/page.
Follow this step-by-step guide:
Place the Cursor at the right position:
Identify where you need to insert the image and then place your cursor in the post accordingly.
You can add images at the following places in your page or post:
Click the Add Media button:
Once you have identified where you need to insert the image, click on the add media button to launch the media uploader interface. In the left panel options, select Insert Media option.
Selecting image for upload:
The right-hand side pane gives you the option to Select files. You can either drag image files from your computer and drop them in the space for drag and drop or click ‘Select Files’ option to trace the path of the files to be uploaded.
You can also use pre-loaded images from the Media Library and insert them in your post/page.
Under this category, one can see various important details about the image including:
A small un-cropped thumbnail of the image, filename, date, size of the image in pixels, edit image option and delete permanently option.
Fields for customizing Title of the image, Caption to be displayed below the image, Alt Text (alternate text) and Description.
Attachment Display Settings:
These settings are used to control the display of the images viewed on the site. You can set the following settings:
Image Alignment lets you determine the place where you wish to make your image appear. You can choose from left, right and center alignment options.
You can determine the image linking by selecting any of the required categories in “Link To” tab. There is an option for setting the size of the image underneath the image link.
The insertion of the images is done by clicking on the ‘Insert into post’ or ‘Insert into page” button at the end of the right-hand side of the uploader window.
Edit/ Delete image:
The image gets inserted in the text editor. If you wish to edit the image settings, you can do so by clicking on the ‘Edit Image’ button appearing on the image’s upper left hand corner. The image can be removed by clicking on the red colored ‘Delete image’ button.
