Tweets Without Permission: New York Comic Con ApologizesThe age of mutual consent was wonderful. Was, being the operative word as more stories emerge – this time with Twitter sending without express permission automatic tweets from New York Comic Con attendees’ accounts – who were registering their badges. The messages directed readers to go to NYCC’s Facebook page. That started a row  amongst the infringed users, gathered in person, who complained that they’d hadn’t sent those tweets.

Mashable published a FYI tweet from New York Comic Con that instructed NYCC-goers to not fret about the unauthorized tweets which they called an “opt-in feature”. Opt in, my foot! The NYCC  had already took two hours to shut down the tweets and asked that the their event-goers “have a blast!”
