What Percentage Of Twitter's Users Are Outside Of The United States? Would You Believe 78%?Ever wonder why no one follows you on Twitter, if you are based in the United States? It is because 78% of Twitter’s users are located outside of the United States. Since 2010, the user base of Twitter internationally has grown 745% from 20 million to 169 million users. Conversely, the user base in the U.S.A. has grown only 390%.  The rate of growth is exactly this: It has boosted up from 10 million to 49 million users.

Twitter has shown an impressive international user growth curve, yet it is the non-United States market that feeds the company. A graph of Twitter’s monthly active users from 2010 to 2013, represented in millions shows the gigantic dearth of Twitter activity in the United States of America.

Now the question becomes how does Twitter position it’s expansion strategy.  It may be a good idea to explain Twitter from it’s very platform to what it can do for those who use it. Twitter instantly connects to what’s most important to you. Twitter allows you to follow your friends, experts, favorite celebrities, etc.
