Wi-Fi Issues Crop Up For iPhone 4S Owners From iOS 7 UpdateHere’s a problem that is reportedly solved by placing an iPhone 4S in a refrigerator/freezer for a few minutes, cooling down the hundreds of complaints on Apple’s support forums citing iOS7 caused problems with the phone’s Broadcom WiFi and Bluetooth controller. The situation is not unlike the issues that occurred during iOS 6’s release.

Technically, the issue is reported like this: The WiFi option in the iPhone 4S’s Settings app becomes unavailable/”greyed out”. Other iOS devices like the iPad mini, the iPhone5 and the iPad 2/iPad3 may also be affected.

Whether it’s the long-running WiFi process that enabled  iOS 7’s new background data features or a defiant firmware update on the iPhone 4S’s WiFi controller, the debate has heated up.
