Only time will tell, goes the saying — and Microsoft aren’t talking — but as Steve Ballmer exits as Microsoft CEO the candidates for the chief executive position are queuing up.
It’s been 7 months that the search has been on for a replacement for Ballmer. Bill Gates has even been thrown into the fray with a clear, resounding “no” to the Microsoft CEO job opportunity. Yet there a handful of itching-to-go qualified candidates waiting in the wings.
John Thompson, Microsoft CEO?
Enter, the well-qualified John Thompson. Currently with an impressive history as CEO at Symantec spanning several years, and an even closer look at Thompson’s credentials reveals that Microsoft should grab this guy by the coattails and sign him up.
The inexplicable time that has lagged in choosing a replacement has some to posit that this long search for a Microsoft CEO is unfathomable and bordering on absurdity.
