Coming next week is a new service, Video Quality Report, that will rate ISP’s on the level of quality concerning the playback of videos.
To get a “YouTube HD Verified” rating, the ISP must deliver HD videos that load at least 90 percent of the time.
Rankings for Standard Def and Low Def will also be provided.
About the accuracy and methodology of such ratings, Google explains: “Rather than being based on data from a small sample of users, this report is based on billions of YouTube videos watched across thousands of ISPs.”
