Privacy & Security

All processing happens locally in your browser. The extension:

  • Does NOT upload your chat data anywhere.
  • Does NOT require any external API or service.
  • Does NOT store your chat content permanently.
  • Requests only the minimum Chrome permissions needed.

Installation

  1. After you receive the .zip file, extract it to a folder on your computer.
  2. Open Google Chrome.
  3. Navigate to `chrome://extensions`.
  4. Enable Developer mode (toggle in the top-right corner).
  5. Click Load unpacked.
  6. Select the `MateMedia PDF Chat Exporter For Duck AI` folder.
  7. The extension will appear in your extensions list.
  8. Click the puzzle piece icon in Chrome's toolbar and pin the
    "MateMedia PDF Chat Exporter For Duck AI" extension.

How to use the extension

  1. Open [duck.ai](https://duck.ai) in Chrome.
  2. Have a conversation (or open an existing one).
  3. Click the MateMedia PDF Chat Exporter For Duck AI icon in your Chrome toolbar.
  4. Choose "Export Complete Chat" or "Export Visible Messages."
  5. Optionally customize the filename and metadata settings.
  6. Wait for the PDF to generate — a progress bar shows the status.
  7. The PDF will automatically download to your default downloads folder.

 

To remove the extension

  1. Go to `chrome://extensions`.
  2. Find "MateMedia PDF Chat Exporter For Duck AI".
  3. Click "Remove."
  4. Confirm the removal.

Troubleshooting

Extension icon is grayed out

Make sure you're on a duck.ai or duckduckgo.com/chat page

"Could not find the chat conversation"

Start or open a conversation first, then try again

Empty or broken PDF

Duck.ai may have changed its layout. Check for extension updates

PDF cuts off content

Try "Export visible messages" mode, or scroll through the chat first

Download doesn't start

Check Chrome's download settings and permissions

Extension won't load

Ensure all files are present and `manifest.json` has no syntax errors
